Shiatsu
In Japanese, Shiatsu means, “finger pressure”. Energy flows in our bodies through channels called meridians, which relate to specific physical, emotional and intellectual functions. Through injuries, stress or bad diet, energy becomes blocked causing chronic discomfort and physical disorders. A Shiatsu practitioner is trained to find these blockages using acupressure massage (given through the clothing) these blockages are opened and your body comes back into alignment allowing the body to function at it’s best.
Reflexology
Our feet support our bodies and specific parts of the feet relate to each organ. By stimulating these pressure points, the body releases tension and promotes healing.
Bowen
Bowen is a gentle form of body work in which very subtle moves performed over the muscles and connective tissue send messages deep into the body, retrieving cellular memory of a preferred, relaxed, balanced way of well-being. Results can be remarkable, even from the first session; often only a few sessions are needed to correct the problem. The body is brought back to its natural pain free state.
Aromatherapy - Essential Oils
Before pharmaceuticals these oils were used to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses. They have exquisite fragrances that balance moods, lift spirits and dispel negative emotions. They can stimulate nerves, regenerate tissue and even act to oxygenate and carry nutrients into the cells.
Raindrop Technique
A powerful, non-invasive tool, which helps to correct defects in the curvature of the spine. It reduces spinal inflammation and helps jump-start the immune system. This technique supports the body in balancing, clearing and aligning energy centers. Essential oils are dropped along the back from above the body and light strokes with the fingers work them into the spine.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga introduces you to the physical yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayamas), deep relaxation and meditation (raja yoga). Yoga is a weight bearing exercise, which strengthens the bones and minimizes the onset of osteoporosis. The endocrine system, which controls the body’s production of hormones and calms the nervous system, becomes balanced through the use of stretches and sounds. When practiced over a six-month period it can increase lung capacity, reduce body weight, and decrease cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
